Trusted by

Trusted by internationally recognized celebrities such as Kevin Costner and Tyler Hamilton, Dr. Craig F. Beyer has been performing Laser Vision Correction (LVC) longer than any other eye surgeon in the State of New York. In 1988, he was a member of the team that performed the first excimer laser vision correction (LVC) procedure in the world and one of the first to perform experimental LASIK surgery in 1989. In fact, he co-authored the first scientific paper that described experimental LASIK surgery (Int. Ophthalmol. 1991; 15:249-258). Later in 1990, Dr. Beyer became one the first principal investigators in the US to perform LVC and trained other LASIK surgeons nationally and internationally before the FDA approved it for the US. Since the onset of his pioneering work with LVC, Dr. Beyer has personally performed more than 50,000 Refractive procedures. Through his efforts and other refractive surgeon pioneers, LVC has become one of the most successful and commonly performed surgical procedures in the world.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Beyer is very active and therefore, elected to undergo LVC on himself. He is a classical pianist and enjoys hiking, camping, skate skiing, swimming, biking, running, and skijoring with his Husky named Blizzard.
